About Cwmfelinfach Primary School

An inclusive learning community with an outstanding ethos and sense of unity, federated with Ynysddu Primary School since 2019.

A welcome from our Head Teacher

Croeso · Welcome

I am extremely proud to be Head Teacher of Cwmfelinfach Primary School and wish to extend a warm welcome to our cheerful, confident and supportive school where together we inspire our children daily with the values of belonging, believing and being your best self.

Cwmfelinfach offers a vibrant learning community with pupils who demonstrate positive attitudes to learning and engage fully in individual and collaborative group tasks. Most pupils display super levels of confidence and independence from a very early age. They are polite and respectful towards adults and each other and show considerable care and consideration for others. The school is an inclusive learning community with an outstanding ethos and sense of unity that supports the learning and wellbeing of pupils greatly.

We expect the very highest standards from all our children and our dedicated, skilled team of staff strive to ensure all children are empowered with the values and skills to allow their imaginations to flourish and to achieve to their greatest potential.

I thank you for taking the time to look around our website and I hope you find it helpful in giving you an insight into Cwmfelinfach Primary School.

School aims · The four purposes

The young people we aim to shape

We want our pupils to develop the capacity for lifelong learning, to have a love of learning, and to make sure that the learning needs of all pupils are fully met. Four principles underpin our work, supported by the twelve pedagogical principles. The curriculum aims to enable all our pupils to be:

  • Ambitious, capable learners who are ready to learn throughout their lives, who enjoy learning, make excellent progress and achieve their full potential.
  • Enterprising, creative contributors who are ready to play a full part in life and work.
  • Ethical, informed citizens who are ready to be citizens of Wales and the world.
  • Healthy, confident individuals who are ready to lead fulfilling lives as valued members of society, making a positive contribution and using their talents for the benefit of others as well as themselves.
